One of the most exciting new features of Google's Pixel 4 is the ability to adapt your device to new fonts, new colors, and more. Although the feature is not fully operational before launching Pixel 4, we can help you download and enable a preview of "pixel themes" on current Pixel devices.

To quickly summarize what is "Pixel Themes", it is an application on Pixel devices that allows users to easily customize their device with new accent colors, new icon shapes and even fonts. We have already seen all this in the past during the first beta releases, but with the Pixel Themes application, users do not need to delve into the development options to access the various changes.
Presumably, Google finally launch Pixel Themes officially on all Pixel devices, but until that happens, you will have to download it manually. With the APKs we were able to get pre-release Pixel 4 devices, you can make sure that the app works on your current Pixel smartphone.
How to download and install 'Pixel Themes'
First, you will need to install the software Styles and backgrounds app. You can download the APK right here. This app simply updates the Google Wallpapers app installed on your Pixel device and provides it with support for the Material theme and dark mode.
Then you will have to install the Pixel Themes APK that you can download right here. As a precaution, install this application alone will your device crashes whenever you try to access the wallpaper / style selector. To solve this problem, we will have to install the software Pixel Screen Wallpapers APK that can be downloaded right here.
At this point, the pixel themes appear under the "Style" tab of your usual wallpaper selector, accessed from a long press on an empty part of the home screen. The application will work and allow you to take a look at the features we have presented in our exclusive preview. Themes can not be applied or saved until you have executed an ADB command.
For pixel themes to work fully on your device, you need to enter the ADB command below.
adb shell pm grant com.google.android.apps.wallpaper android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
At this point, you can create your own custom themes for your Pixel devices and save them. In particular, at this point, the only thing that does not work is the default preset theme, because it tries to use one of the new Pixel 4 wallpapers that depend on Google's servers. Tap "Keep current wallpaper" corrects this problem.
