Helm, 25, is a 6-foot-4, 255-pound tight end who entered the league as an undrafted free agent from Duke in 2019. Kansas City Stars Herbie Teope noted that TE2 candidate Deon Yelder had not trained since Kansas City started padded workouts on Friday, so that adds some competition to this group of positions. Helm will compete with Yelder, Nick Keizer and offseason addition Ricky Seals-Jones for a spot in the squad’s 53-man roster.
If he stays true, Helm will be the only player on the Chiefs roster not to be particularly Love the upcoming ring ceremony.
