The developer took inspiration from Japanese folk tales and mythology for the two-player story and four-player survival missions. The two-player missions exploit the basics of combat from the main campaign, but there are “new magical twists that often require careful synchronization with your partner,” according to Bridges.

You can play with your friends or leave Ghost of Tsushima pair you up with other players. The modes are completely separate from the main game, so you won’t be playing as Jin or his companions. You will be able to choose from four classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin and Assassin. Sucker Punch will unveil its capabilities and customization options in the coming months.

In addition to the story and survival missions, the latest of which include Oni enemies with supernatural abilities, there will be a four-player raid that will go live shortly thereafter. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends takes place. You and your teammates will venture into “a whole new realm to challenge a brutal and terrifying enemy,” Bridges wrote.

Since you will not be able to play these modes with more than three of your friends, you cannot entirely live anything Seven Samurai fantasies that you could have fed. But you could be pretty close.
