USC’s 2019 fourth-round pick, Marshall was competing for a spot on the roster as part of a deep corner rotation led by Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, Tavon Young and Jimmy Smith.
Marshall spent most of his rookie season in the reserve injured, but was activated in the 53-man roster in November and appeared in three games. While he only played four shots on defense, Marshall played 43 shots on special teams.
In other injury-related news, Harbaugh said wide receiver Chris Moore suffered a broken finger. Moore, who caught three passes for 21 yards last season, stands out in special teams.
“It’s amazing, the same thing happened last year,” Harbaugh said. “Chris knows how to handle this. He will be fine, but it will take a few weeks for this bone to heal.
Defensive tackle Brandon Williams and outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson weren’t the other two players in Monday practice, but Harbaugh said they would be back in a few days at most.
