Jenna Mourey, better known online as Jenna Marbles, and her partner, Julien Solomita, hosted the latest episode of the Jenna and Julien Podcast. The departure follows Mourey’s exit from YouTube after she apologized for making racist videos in the past.
In a touching final episode on Monday, the couple thanked their fans for listening to their podcast for the past six years.
“I haven’t been on the internet for a while,” Mourey said at the start of the six-minute final.
She hasn’t posted any content publicly since June, when she announced she would no longer be posting to her YouTube channel in a now-deleted video highlighting and apologizing for the racist content she originally posted. of her career. In the video, she showed a clip of when she posed as Nicki Minaj as she wore a black face and another of her using an insult to refer to Asian Americans.
“It’s not OK, and it hasn’t existed on the Internet, because it’s not OK,” Mourey said in the June video. She had previously deleted the racist videos long before including them in her apology video, which she also deleted, as previously mentioned.
Before leaving YouTube, she had 20 million subscribers.
Solomita, who hosted the solo podcast from Mourey’s Online Silence, is still planning to broadcast on Twitch.
“Maybe one day in the future, Julien and I can do something else … For now, the podcast is goodbye,” Mourey continued. “I just want you to know I’m fine.” I’m getting help, and I’m just a person right now.
