The future of UFC bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley remains uncertain after his technical loss to Marlon Vera at UFC 252 last weekend in Las Vegas, a fight that saw “Sugar »Suffer from an apparent leg injury that may or may not have contributed to his caged disappearance.
The good news for O’Malley is that nothing has been broken.
“The x-ray on her ankle / lower leg came back fine,” a source said Ariel helwani. “No fractures, but an MRI is needed (once the swelling has reduced) to look for ligament and tendon tears. They will also scan the knee. Cannot have an MRI until the swelling goes away. “
O’Malley suffered a similar injury in 2018.
The loss to Vera will undoubtedly slow the momentum of the oft-publicized “Sugar Show”, regardless of whether or not O’Malley is sidelined with a debilitating injury. Either way, former UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo is not impressed.
Just in case anyone still cares what “Triple C” thinks.
