Hundreds of thousands of California residents were hit over the weekend by a series of continuing power outages as energy experts were unable to pinpoint the exact cause of the rotating power outages amid a historic heat wave .
Although planned power outages have been orchestrated in recent years to help prevent wildfires, California has not experienced widespread supply-related outages since 2001, when Enron and other energy traders launched manipulated the state market.

And on a subsequent visit to the state in November 2018, Trump suggested “raking” the forests of California – claiming that President Sauli Niinistö of Finland had told him about the preferred management method. Niinistö later denied that such a conversation had taken place.
