As a record-breaking heat wave sweeps through California, the state’s Independent System Operator (ISO) issued a Flex Alert for the state urging customers to save energy from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. . See you on Wednesday.
The utility company said service disruptions would likely continue Tuesday afternoon and evening. They have provided an interactive map that customers can use to track outages.
PG&E customers can enter their address here to determine if their home will be affected.
Energy conservation is necessary due to an increase in demand, mainly due to more air conditioning and other equipment used to stay cool.
The Flex Alert remains in effect when the sun goes down, as solar energy production decreases even if the heat remains into the evening.
