LOS ANGELES (KABC) – Video captured a FedEx plane making an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday morning after a mechanical problem.

LA City firefighters responded to the airport around 3:50 a.m., according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Officials said the plane’s left landing gear did not deploy.

Sparks were seen as the aircraft glided along the runway with the engine under the left wing rubbing against the sidewalk.

One of the two pilots on board sustained a non-life threatening leg injury while exiting the plane, according to Stewart. The other pilot was not injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will conduct an investigation, said Stewart.

Airport officials did not expect delays from the incident.

No further information was immediately released.
