The clubs remain closed, but that doesn’t prevent Dua Lipa and The Blessed Madonna from having a hell of a dance party. Today (August 20), the two artists announced the tracklist for Future Nostalgia Club, a complete remix package of Lipa’s LP 2020 Nostalgia for the future.
The project reinvents the album for the club and includes samples from Gwen Stefani and Blackpink, as well as remixes of dance legends including Masters At Work, Moodymann and more. The lineup also includes Yaeji, Jayda G, Paul Woolford and Mark Ronson.
Released on August 28 Future Nostalgia Club follows the release last week of Lipa’s Levitating remix of The Blessed Madonna, a montage starring Missy Elliott and Madonna.
“The past few months have been surreal,” Lipa says in a press release. “I saw you all dance at your house and at your Zoom parties Nostalgia for the future like you’re in the club with me. It brought so much joy to my days at home, although I would have preferred to play these songs live for all of you on the road. Meanwhile, I decided to take the party up a notch with the incomparable The Blessed Madonna, who secretly helped me create the mixtape that would become Club Future Nostalgia. We invited friends and legends to join us for the fun. “
“When Dua asked me to recreate Nostalgia for the future as a DJ-style dance mixtape, “The Blessed Madonna is quoted in the statement,” I was excited because I knew I was being asked to introduce not only myself, but my pop heroes and sheroes and club in a whole new way.
