Demon’s Souls on PS5 could launch soon, South Korean note suggests

Demon’s Souls has been rated in South Korea, suggesting the game could be a few months away from launch. This could potentially put it in the PS5 release window – if not on console launch day, at least a few weeks after that. The game was only announced for PS5, so this is not a case of arriving on PS4 before the fact.

The long-awaited Demon’s Souls remake, courtesy of Bluepoint Studios, was revealed during Sony’s first PlayStation 5 showcase. While a release date wasn’t suggested during this reveal, this recent list of notes indicating that it may not be far off.

Ranking lists are different from retail lists in that they usually only appear near launch. Right now, the only other Sony title listed on the same leaderboard is Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which Sony says will arrive this vacation with the PS5. As Gematsu also points out, the old South Korean Rating Board lists all took place a few months before they were released.

Sony still has a lot to share when it comes to the PS5, especially its price. Another PS5 stream is set to take place this month, right after the console’s first global commercial. The developers of PS5 exclusives have also detailed some of the features they are building into the console’s new DualSense controller, from locking triggers to directional vibrations.

Demon’s Souls initially launched on PS3 and exclusively in Japan, before heading west. In GameSpot’s original Demon’s Souls review, reviewer Kevin Van Ord praised what would become a new genre, saying, “If you’re in the mood for real innovation, fair but relentless challenge and a gripping exploration in which every step has consequences, then you’re craving Demon’s Souls. “
