Desperate times bring out the worst in people – from those who amassed toilet paper and sold individual rolls for over $ 50 each in the early days of the COVID-19 quarantine, to those now trying to sell crappy iPhones with the Fortnite game installed on them for Thousands of dollars.

I would normally write this as a lame attempt to suck people out of their money which obviously won’t work, but apparently it does. at work. Some eBay buyers are spend huge sums on iPhones they don’t need.

That’s enough if you buy a used high-end iPhone 11 Pro for more than what an Apple charges for a brand new iPhone; IIt’s worse when you spend that kind of stupid money – again, thousands dollars – on something like a used iPhone XR or iPhone 8 Plus. There’s a sucker born every minute, and in a perfect world eBay would have a sort of “common sense” test they would have to be successful first to use the service.

Anyway, here’s why this is just one big scam you should avoid no matter how badly your child complains about the way they are. impossible to install Fortnite on their iPhone or iPad.

You should never pay too much for a years old iPhone

The first, and most obvious, is the fact that you are paying so way more for an iPhone than it’s worth a Game. If you’re going to spend $ 4000 on a $ 1000 smartphone, buy your kid a $ 1000 laptop and let them play. Fortnite on that. Heck, even a $ 500 laptop should be enough to get them on the bus and greet the driver with no problem.

You might not play Fortnite for a very long time

Second, and more importantly, there is absolutely no guarantee that an iPhone with Fortnite already installed on it – as is the case with many Fortnite fans – will be able to play the game longer. All it takes is an iOS update that breaks an issue in the game to make it completely unplayable. Fortnite Creator Epic Games has no way of getting you an updated version of the game, as it no longer exists on the App Store, and Epic Games won’t even have an Apple developer account for much longer. Your Fortnite time seems limited.

Even at the best of times, you won’t be able to play the latest version of the game with the seasonal updates that Epic Games is adding. I have no idea how long you will be able to continue playing an older version of Fortnite, but there’s a good chance that even that window will eventually close.

You could waste every penny you got ‘re expenses

Finally, you might not even need an iPhone that has Fortnite already installed on it. Although it is true that you will not be able to find Fortnite on the App Store, that does not mean you can’t download it of the App Store.

This is what I mean. If you have already downloaded Fortnite previously on iOS – I guess most people looking to get the game have at least tried it at some point in its three years of existence – so it’s still associated with your account.

Open the App Store, tap your account icon in the top right corner, then tap “Purchased.” Search for “Fortnite” and if you are lucky you can download it again. It’s a lot easier and a lot cheaper than buying someone else’s iPhone, but I applaud these eBay sellers for the fuss. Quite simply not.
