Blizzard is finally creating a World of Warcraft animated series called Afterlives

Blizzard is releasing an original animated series based on World of Warcraft, the developer announced today. Afterlives will premiere this Thursday during Gamescom 2020 online celebrations.

It is a movement that seems inevitable; Blizzard has long promoted its games, World of warcraft at Fireplace and Overwatch, with beautifully animated short films. It’s a way to hype characters or stories – promotional material that rarely has a long tail. Afterlives is his first original series which takes up the tradition of World of warcraft and turns it into something stand-alone.

So far, little is known about the series. “Just as our choices determine who we are in life – they open the paths we take in the hereafter,” the description of the teaser reads. “Prepare to dive into four realms of the Shadowlands – Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and Revendreth – and experience the journeys souls take once they cross the Eternal Veil.
