He said post office hours will remain intact, overtime will be approved if necessary, mail processing equipment will remain in place, and mail processing facilities will remain open.

“Although we experienced a temporary drop in service, which should not have happened, we are in the process of fixing this issue,” DeJoy said Monday.

DeJoy also testified that he spoke to people “associated” with the Trump campaign that the president’s attacks on postal voting were “not helpful.”

House Democrats passed legislation on Saturday that would prevent the Postal Service from making operational changes that would cut service and provide the agency with $ 25 billion.
