The Buffalo Bills have another win under their belt after handling Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks (6-2) with relative ease on Sunday, 44-34, to move to 7-2 over the year. You really couldn’t have asked for a better start from Josh Allen and the Bills offense right off the bat. It only took three single games to score the first points of the match on the first drive. From there, Buffalo took the lead and never looked back.
In the first half alone, Josh Allen threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns, while throwing just four incompletions. The third-year quarterback finished with 415 passing yards and those three scores. Allen also rushed for 14 yards and a touchdown.
After being ruled out in the first quarter, Russell Wilson’s side made things a little interesting and flirted with a comeback, reducing the Bills’ lead to as little as seven with two minutes left in the third quarter. It would be as close as they would come to sniffing a lead, however, as the Bills began scoring 14 unanswered points to give themselves the leeway to make a comeback simply after the fact. The backbreaker came on a third and 16 play at the 35-yard Seattle line with 12:21 to go. Josh Allen sent a screen pass to John Brown, who had 33 yards down the field to extend Buffalo’s run. Quinton Dunbar was scored for DPI on the next play which then set up an easy touchdown for Zack Moss. Game, set, match.
Overall, the Buffalo defense did a remarkable job limiting the favorite NFL MVP to Wilson, who finished with 390 passing yards and two touchdowns. They knocked him out of place on several occasions, earning him five sacks and 11 quarterback hits. That pressure forced him to commit four turnovers (two interceptions, two fumbles) in the afternoon, which helped tip this game in favor of Buffalo.
From there, the Bills will prepare for a road trip to Arizona to face the Cardinals. As for the Seahawks, they will lose on that two-game road trip when they return to the West Coast for an NFC West showdown with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10.
