The No.5 Texas A&M football team had their most impressive outing of the season on Saturday night. The Aggies (5-1) went down the road to South Carolina and absolutely outscored the Gamecocks in a 48-3 win. Kellen Mond accounted for five touchdowns and the defense was exceptional.

The next step for Texas A&M is another road game. This Saturday, November 14, the Aggies will play in Tennessee (2-4) at 2:30 p.m. (central time). The game will air nationally on ESPN.

When the game line was released on Sunday, Texas A&M opened as a 12-point favorite, according to bookmaker William Hill. The plus / minus is set at 53.5 points.

The Aggies opened as an 8-point favorites against South Carolina before the line fell to 10 at the end of the week. Even though A&M is already a big favorite on the road, the line could go up this week.

Tennessee has been classified at some point this season, but the Vols just lost 24-13 to Arkansas. The team are on a four-game losing streak that also includes unbalanced losses to Alabama, Kentucky and Georgia.

Against the Razorbacks, Tennessee senior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano was injured after starting 5 for 8 for 42 yards. He was replaced by a real freshman Harrison bailey, who struggled, finishing 6 in 9 assists for 65 yards and two interceptions.

Eric Gray ran 123 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries and now has 478 yards and three scores on the year. The Vols finished with 185 rushing yards and 107 assists on the game.

Texas A&M, meanwhile, had a great overall performance in attack. Mond threw four touchdowns and ran for another in the win on Saturday night. Tight end Jalen wydermyer had a pair of touchdowns and running backs Devon Achane also had a long scoring reception.

On the ground, Isaiah player ran for 131 yards, all in the first half. He is now the SEC’s second biggest rusher. Real freshman Achane scored a second score in the running game as Mond uses his legs more.

Wydermyer looks more and more like the Freshman All-American he was a year ago. He has several touchdowns in consecutive games. Ainias Smith also caught his fifth touchdown reception of the season on Saturday as Chase lane has been found as a valuable outlet to move the chains.

The Aggie offensive line hasn’t allowed a sack in the last five games. They only gave up one during the season. The line has also been very good at opening holes for the running backs, helping A&M become one of the most balanced offenses in all of college football.

The Aggies and the Vols have only played once since A&M joined the SEC. In 2016, the two were ranked in the top 10 as Tennessee headed for Kyle Field. A&M ended up taking a two-overtime victory, 45-38.
