In full military dress, the Queen comes out of the gates of Buckingham Palace to greet an adoring crowd.
In a scene from the opening moments of series four of The Crown – which will air on Netflix from next Sunday – a solemn Queen leaves her London home on horseback to greet her subjects.
In fact, it was filmed several miles away at Elstree Studios in Herts, where CGI technology was used to detail the buildings.

Scenes at No 10 Downing Street were also filmed there.
Olivia Colman is back in the saddle as Monarch in the highly anticipated new series, alongside Gillian Anderson who is making her debut as Margaret Thatcher.
The two most powerful women in the UK have had a notoriously fractured relationship, which will be explored in the new ten-part series spanning the years 1979-90.
It will also focus on Prince Charles and Diana’s doomed marriage and its disintegration after their awkward court and lavish marriage in 1981.

There is also a fake Downing Street, which is said to have been used by Gillian Anderson in her new role of Margaret Thatcher
The third series ended with the Queen celebrating her Silver Jubilee but privately feeling the strain of her role.
The fourth series will examine how Grocer’s Daughter Mrs. Thatcher struggles to bond with the aristocratic Queen.
It will also feature the tearful departure of No.10’s Iron Lady after being forced to step down in 1990.

SANDRINGHAM (SOMERLEYTON): Somerleyton Hall is a sumptuous Grade II listed country house near Lowestoft in Suffolk. The 5,000 acre estate is owned by Hugh Crossley, 4th Baron Somerleyton.
The Crown’s controversial storylines meant producers couldn’t film in the Queen’s actual residences.
But rather than using studios, many scenes were shot in stately homes and other historic properties across the UK.
To celebrate the new series, the producers exclusively shared some of their closely guarded locations with The Mail on Sunday.
WINDSOR (BURGHLEY HOUSE): Windsor is reproduced at Burghley House, a 16th century estate in Lincolnshire. The house was built for Sir William Cecil, the Lord High Treasurer of Queen Elizabeth I.
PALACE (WELLINGTON COLLEGE): Berkshire’s school of feepaying, one of the UK’s best known, has become Kensington Palace, the home of the Princess of Wales
For the shots at Balmoral, the actors decamped to Ardverikie in Inverness-shire, where the Gothic building was also used as the fictional Glenbogle in Monarch Of The Glen.
During the fourth series, the Queen and a struggling Princess Anne have a heart to heart as they roll through the grounds of Gatcombe Park.
In fact, the scenes were filmed in Wrotham Park, Herts, which has been the quiet star of more than 60 productions, including Jane Eyre, Bridget Jones’s Diary and Mr Selfridge.
BALMORAL (ARDVERIKIE): Scenes of deer stalking in Scotland were filmed in the grounds of the 19th century Ardverikie Estate in Inverness-shire. The building was also used in the Monarch Of The Glen television series.
Besides the UK, the series also depicts royal events in Australia, New York and the West Indies.
But the cast didn’t fly away as thrifty producers found places closer such as Kensington Town Hall and the University of Manchester.
Helena Bonham Carter, who is reprising her role as Princess Margaret, managed a trip to Atlanterra in Andalucia, Spain, which doubled as the Royals’ favorite haven, Mustique.
