Suddenly I feel the need for a faster monitor for my Xbox Series X

So i start Ori and the will of the wisps, one of my favorite games, right after applying its Xbox Series X / S upgrade patch, and I’m greeted with a message that basically says I need a faster monitor as soon as this is humanly possible. The notion of 120 frames per second on a game console had not struck until this precise moment.

I am currently using an Acer 28 inch monitor that I bought last Christmas because it was both 4K and HDR. I didn’t need a faster refresh rate because game consoles didn’t. Well, now they do. And so I jostle myself.

Some people claim that they can’t see the difference between 60 fps and 120 fps. I am not one of those people. I recently used an Origin laptop with a 240Hz screen, and in supported games the images flow like water across the screen. It’s like a kind of hyper-reality. I need this in my or.

Until I find a sufficiently fast monitor, something in the 27-28 inch range (my space is limited), I’ll have to settle for 6K oversampled at 60fps. Poor me.
