Steelers S Minkah Fitzpatrick finally breaks out against Dallas

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was an All-Pro last season thanks in large part to his ability to make splash plays. This season, Fitzpatrick has been fairly calm but not on Sunday. Last weekend against the Dallas Cowboys, Fitzpatrick finally had the game many of us have been waiting for all season when helping the Steelers to a last-second 24-19 victory.

Fitzpatrick directly represented two turnovers on Sunday. First of all, Fitzpatrick collected a fumble to give Pittsburgh some momentum. He did the same later in the game with his second interception of the season.

Additionally, Fitzpatrick helped break fourth Hail Mary by the Cowboys to effectively end the game. In total, Fitzpatrick had defended two assists in addition to six total tackles.

If the Steelers are to be serious contenders in the second half of the season, Fitzpatrick needs more games like this. The lack of depth on defense has been exposed for the past two weeks along the defensive line. This puts pressure on the secondary to escalate.
