The Prince of Wales told Princess Diana “ he didn’t like her the day before their wedding, ” the late royal’s astrologer said.
Astrologer Penny Thornton, whom the Princess of Wales began to consult in 1986, explained that Prince Charles made the remarks before their big day in 1981 because he ‘didn’t want to get married on false premises’ ‘.
But the realization that her husband didn’t love her left Princess Diana ‘devastated’ and that she didn’t want to get married, according to Somerset-based Penny.
The astrologer made the claims in ITV’s new documentary The Diana Interview: Revenge Of A Princess, which airs tonight and watches the Royal Bomb interview with Panorama 25 years later.
He recently made the headlines on new allegations made by Diana’s brother Earl Spencer that then-Panorama reporter Martin Bashir was shown false financial documents to gain access to the royal.
The Prince of Wales told Princess Diana (pictured on their wedding day in 1981) ‘that he didn’t like her the night before their wedding,’ the late royal’s astrologer said.
ITV’s new two-part documentary tells the story of Princess Diana’s 1995 interview with Mr Bashir that shocked the nation and thus threatened the future of the monarchy and the BBC.
Marking 25 years since Britain connected to watch Diana Brag on national television, these two programs listen to those who witnessed her fairytale romance with Prince Charles turn into bitterness and ultimately divorce.
Penny reveals: “ One of the most shocking things Diana told me was that the night before the wedding Charles told her he didn’t love her …
“I think Charles didn’t want to enter the marriage on a false premise. He wanted to reconcile her with her and it was devastating for Diana.
“ She didn’t want to go through the wedding at the time, she thought about not attending the wedding. ”

James Colthurst, the Irish-born healthcare worker who was a close friend of Diana’s when she worked as a nanny in London before marrying Prince Charles, also appears in the program.
He says: ‘I remember her getting more and more pissed off with what was going on and the fact that the whole organization as she saw it was helping to support the relationship between Camilla and Prince Charles.
‘She would have moments of extreme anger and wanted to crush the mattress with the tennis racket and stuff, and I said,’ Well, I think there are ways to prick the abscess. ‘ ”
Elsewhere in the documentary, royal journalist Jennie Bond reveals that Diana later told her she feared she would be barred from speaking as part of a divorce settlement.
The BBC announced that it would conduct a full independent investigation into how it obtained the interview with Princess Diana which aired on Panorama in 1995.
Recalling why the princess decided to speak openly about her marriage issues, Jennie said: ‘Diana told me she was concerned that as part of the divorce settlement she would be gagged.
“ He would be prohibited from speaking publicly about the marriage in any way. It was then or never.
The divorce of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana was officially finalized on August 24, 1996, after a very public dispute.
The remarks made on the ITV program come after the BBC revealed it would be conducting a full independent investigation into how it got the interview with Princess Diana that aired on Panorama in 1995.
The broadcaster confirmed that an external investigation would examine how journalist M. Bashir pulled off the famous conversation with the princess.
The announcement comes after Diana’s brother Earl Charles Spencer accused the reporter of using ‘dirty tactics’, including produce false documents, to gain the trust of his family.
The claims allegedly made by Mr Basihr led to an interview with Princess Diana for the BBC Panorama, where she said there were ‘three people’ in her marriage to Prince Charles (pictured together in 1981)
Tim Davie, chief executive of the company, said: ‘The BBC takes this very seriously and we want to find out the truth. We are in the process of commissioning a solid and independent investigation ”.
The BBC boss confirmed that the terms of the investigation would be announced in the coming days.
Diana’s brother Earl Spencer slammed the BBC, claiming Mr Bashir showed her ‘fake bank statements’ to help her gain access to the princess.
The documents concerned alleged payments made to two members of the royal household by the security services to obtain information on the princess, the count claims.
He previously called for an independent investigation and tweeted that the company was “ unable to honestly face the ugliness of this matter. ”
Martin Bashir (pictured), now BBC religion editor, is gravely ill with Covid-related complications and unable to respond to the count’s claims, the BBC has said.
The BBC’s announcement of an independent investigation today follows weeks of Earl Spencer’s campaign.
He claims Bashir repeatedly cheated on him in order to gain access to the royal as his marriage to Prince Charles fell apart.
The interview that followed made headlines around the world as millions of viewers watched her say “There are three of us in this marriage”.
His comments on the state of his marriage sent shockwaves through the monarchy and Bashir’s turbo-charged career, as he won high praise for a big journalistic scoop.
The BBC said Bashir was currently unable to answer questions as he was currently cleared by his doctors.
He said the journalist, who currently works as the BBC’s religion editor, is recovering from quadruple heart bypass surgery in addition to having ‘significant complications’ after contracting Covid-19 plus early in the year.
