Bert Belasco, who played entrepreneur Charles Whitmore and the love interest of Nadine Ellis’ character on the sitcom BET Let’s stay together, is dead. He was 38 years old.

According to his father, Belasco died of an apparent aneurysm on Sunday while in a Virginia hotel, according to a report from TMZ. He was in town working on a movie, he said.

Belasco also had recurring roles in the baseball drama starring Kylie Bunbury. Not at Fox in 2016 and on the showtime comedy-club drama I die here in 2018. He appeared in other shows including House, Justified, Key and Peele, NCIS: New Orleans and Hypermarket as well as.

Let’s stay together, created by Jacque Edmonds Cofer, aired on BET for four seasons, from 2011 to 2014, and Belasco starred in 52 episodes. His character and Ellis’ Stacy Lawrence first meet when he arrives to renovate his kitchen, and they ultimately get married.

Belasco earned a theater degree from Southern Illinois University, spent time with Second City, and appeared with Betty White in a Snickers commercial that premiered during the 2010 Super Bowl.
