Former McDonald’s USA CEO Ed Rensi said it was “ tragic ” that New York City small business owners had to deal with coronavirus and inconsistent lockdown restrictions from executives.
A Tiktok video of a McDonald’s employee sparked outrage online after the worker claimed that all of the fast food chain’s mugs contained the same amount of the drink.

In the video seen over a million times Monday night, employee @ mykah.mykah pours Coke into a small McDonald’s mug in one medium, then into a large, all without ice. Each time the drink is poured, it adapts to the next size.
“They’re lying to us doe,” he captioned the video.
The video has over 12,000 comments, mostly filled with skeptics who claim Coca-Cola has already been poured into the cups in advance.
“This is what happens when you lightly fill each of the cups and then pour in more,” one person wrote, while another agreed to add, “You could at least make it less obvious that you filled the cups. ”

However, some users say the video is legitimate, including one user claiming to be a former employee.
“I worked at McDonald’s and it’s true,” said the former employee. “Always say no ice or ice on the side (in another mug) and order only small, NEVER medium.”
Meanwhile, another user pointed out that it doesn’t matter whether the statement is true or not.
“Either way, you’re just going to fill the entire cup with ice and leave no room for the drink itself,” the user wrote.

According to Buzzfeed, McDonald’s cup sizes in the United States are around 16 ounces for a small, 21 ounces for a medium, and 30 ounces for a large. Many McDonald’s drinks, including Coke, Sprite, and Dr. Pepper, are available on the restaurant’s dollar menu.
