2 newborns found dead, wrapped in paper in New York, police say

Two dead newborns were found wrapped in paper in a New York building on Monday, police officials said.

A manager of a building in the Bronx discovered the unconscious infants around 2 p.m., according to the New York Police Department. Police said the babies were taken to Bronx Hospital in Lebanon where they were pronounced dead.

It was not known what the cause of death was or if the babies were related.

No further details were immediately available.

Deputy Chief Timothy McCormack told a press conference that police had no information on the identity of the parents.
