Another eventful and / or traumatic journey through time awaits you Umbrella Academy. Netflix announced on Tuesday that its comic book adaptation has been renewed for season 3.

Just like the two seasons before, Umbrella AcademyThe third round of funding will cover 10 one-hour episodes. Production is scheduled to begin in February in Toronto.

Season 2 of the drama – which is based on comics by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá – resumed immediately after Number Five helped his family escape the apocalypse … only for the siblings to disperse on a three-year period in the 1960s in Dallas.

In the second final (spoiler alert!), the Hargreeves were able to stop the apocalypse entirely and return in 2019. But that led to the creation of a New chronology – the one in which Sir Reginald did not die, he is the founder of the Sparrow Academy instead of Umbrella Academy and, most shockingly of all, Ben is alive and well (read our full rundown here). TVLine readers gave both the finale and Season 2 in general an average rating of “A”.

Umbrella AcademyThe cast includes Ellen Page as Vanya, Tom Hopper as Luther, David Castañeda as Diego, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, Aidan Gallagher as number five, Justin H. Min as Ben and Colm Feore as Sir Reginald. They are all confirmed to return for Season 3, with the addition of sophomore Ritu Arya as Lila. Series co-creator Steve Blackman will also be returning as showrunner.

The show’s Season 3 pickup has been added to our streaming renewal dashboard. Happy to hear Umbrella Academy will come back? Tell us in the comments!
