The lack of recognition of Biden’s victory is considerable within the Trump administration.

General Service Administration (GSA) Administrator Emily Murphy, who was appointed by Trump, waits to see “a winner is clear” before recognizing Biden as president-elect, a move that delays the transition of power .

Murphy’s signing would allow Biden’s team to access millions of federal dollars for salaries, consultants and travel, to meet with government officials and to be briefed on intelligence. Biden’s team indicated that they consider legal action in a phone call with reporters on Monday to start the transition.

When asked if Biden’s transition team should take legal action, the Delaware senator told CNN he “couldn’t speak for” the team.

“This is obviously the right thing to do, both for the GSA administrator and I think the right next step for Biden’s transition team,” he said.

“There is a lot of important, difficult and urgent work to be done on the transition,” he said. “There is a strong and large transition team, busy developing strategic plans, with interviews with potential candidates or candidates for positions. … They need access to vital federal resources that enable them to do their job more easily. “

But other GOP senators have been reluctant to publicly accept Biden as the winner, as Trump cast doubt on the election results, arguing without evidence that there had been widespread voter fraud. He refused to concede.

The Trump campaign has filed several lawsuits in different battlefield states to challenge the vote count. Some of these cases have already been dismissed by state judges.
