Masters 2020 departure times, pairings: Full field, groups, schedule set for the first round at Augusta National

The way the Masters 2020 is organized will be a little different in November than it normally is in April, but one thing remains the same. Augusta National has always captured the attention of this year’s groups and generated interest throughout the day Thursday for the first round and Friday for the second round.

Due to the lack of daylight this year, Groups # 1 and # 10 will depart at 7 a.m. ET, with the last group of the day leaving just after noon.

No one matches up as well as Augusta National because they do a fantastic job sprinkling stars and superstars into different (sometimes unique) groups and create a balanced viewer experience. Early Thursday most of the attention will be on either the group of Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Louis Oosthuizen, or the trio Tiger Woods, Shane Lowry, Andy Ogletree. Woods, the reigning Masters champion, will play with the reigning Open champion (Lowry) and last year’s US winner (Ogletree).

The afternoon is also hot with the hottest group being Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay. All are among the top 10 favorites to win this year. My favorite band, however, is probably Adam Scott, Collin Morikawa and Tyrrell Hatton. It will be an absolute party to hit the ball, these three will put on a show with their iron game.

Here’s a look at the 31 groups that will start playing at the 84th Masters on Thursday.
