Jon Gosselin has said he’s open to his children talking publicly about his famous family breakup for years as allegations of abuse against him and his ex-wife Kate Gosselin have been reported in recent months.
The 43-year-old father and his ex-wife Kate, 45, share eight children, which became the premise of their former show “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” Together they have twins Cara and Madelyn, 20, and 16-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Joel, Leah, Hannah and Collin.
Jon appeared on “The Dr. Oz Show” Tuesday to discuss his son Collin’s abuse charges as well as the broken family ties between the children.
The former TV star said he wouldn’t mind having his children speak out publicly.

“What would it take to mend those wounds so you and Kate can be there and celebrate your children together?” Asked Dr. Mehmet Oz.
“I don’t know, maybe an intervention.” Hey, are you gonna get along? This is my day. “I don’t know if they’re going to contact me that way. I left that in their backyard and I’m just focusing on the two who live with me because there’s so much going on with therapy and work. and COVID and everything, ”Jon said.
The famous father agreed with Dr. Oz that his family could, in fact, “rewrite the script”.
“I think kids need to talk. I give them the opportunity to talk to the public because you are public, you have every chance of doing these things,” he continued.

Jon currently has custody of his son Collin and daughter Hannah. In September, Collin accused Jon of beating him, which he denied at the time.
The charges went to child protection services. The agency did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment at the time, but Jon was told the agency had determined the reports were “unfounded” due to a lack of evidence, reported the Daily Mail.
Jon has denied for the second time that he acted violently towards his children during his appearance on Tuesday. Speaking to Dr Oz, Jon said Collin was “in a manic state”.
“No,” he replied when asked if he had ever laid hands on his children violently. “Only these physical constraints are the hardest thing, because I’m not like that kind of person. Now I have to physically touch someone and someone I love to protect myself, them and everyone. , in case things get out of hand. “

Dr Oz also asked Jon about another abuse allegation coming from Collin. This time it was about the teenager alleging that Kate had once tied him to a chair.
“It’s true, I mean,” Jon alleged. “These are his words to a therapist who had to submit a report to the court and this is how I have custody of my son.”
A spokesperson and lawyers for Kate Gosselin did not immediately respond to Fox News requests for comment.
Jon also said he last spoke to his six other children who did not live with him “two years ago”.

He claimed the distance was caused by “alienation from parents and now alienation from siblings because now they are avoiding Hannah and Collin.”
Jon and Kate’s private life was put in the spotlight once they landed a TV show that followed the parent couple of the twins and sextuplets. The couple married for 10 years before divorcing in 2009.
