AC / DC released a second single from their upcoming album Power Up. The very addictive, hard-riffing Realize follows the release of Shot In The Dark last month, and to steal a line from Angus Young, it’s a good kick.
With Angus going back the years with a few big tracks and – dare we say it – borderline funky riffs, and rejuvenated singer Brian Johnson promising to a) take an unspecified “ you ” to heaven b) send some chills up and down on said person’s spine and furthermore, c) make that lucky individual fly, Realize is a slice of choice of hypnotizing / hypnotizing bad boy boogie from ‘DC. But don’t take our word for it, dive below …
It was good, right?
Come on, listen again, you deserve it. Keep going, keep going, keep going …
Right, as we may have mentioned before, Power Up will be released this Friday. Acca Dacca’s first album since 2014 Rock or bust will be available in regular formats including 180g gatefold vinyl – including a yellow vinyl version exclusive to the AC / DC online store.
There is also a luxury limited edition Power Up box, which is adorned with a button that fans can press. Do it, and let’s face it, you can’t help yourself, and a flashing AC / DC neon logo lights up and – WAHEY! – the opening bars of A bullet in the dark blast from a built-in speaker. Like the devil himself is in the box, with a tiny transistor radio, that just happens to be playing A bullet in the dark. Skill!
Inside the box is the full CD, a 20-page booklet with exclusive photos and a USB charging cable. Why? Keep Power Up energized, idiot!
Malcolm Young receives writing co-credit on all 12 tracks on the new album.
“A lot of songs, Malcolm and I, that we had worked on,” Angus tells Radio.com. “These were songs that we had worked on over the years. And it was about releasing these songs. And I wanted to make sure I had a lot of good songs that Mal really liked.
