The City of Clearwater incorrectly said all lanes on Courtney Campbell’s Causeway reopened earlier Thursday morning. Eastbound lanes remain closed at the moment.

A couple in Tampa hope to receive help from the Red Cross Thursday after high winds knocked down a massive tree in their home Wednesday night. Tampa Fire Rescue told them the house was no longer structurally safe.

Meteorologist Greg Dee said Thursday night Eta would weaken into a tropical depression. Eta leaves our area, crosses the state and heads for the coast of Georgia.

Eta made his second landing in Florida near Cedar Key with winds of 50 mph.
3 a.m.
Eta is blamed for at least one death in the Tampa Bay area. A manatee County person was killed after being electrocuted inside a house while standing in the water on Wednesday, officials said.
