Here are the Liverpool morning headlines for Thursday 12 November.
Reds must plan after Gomez’s coup
Joe Gomez injured his knee while training with England yesterday. While it’s unclear how long he’ll be out for now, it’s another defensive headache that Jurgen Klop will have to work around.
Virgil van Dijk is already out long term and Trent Alexander-Arnold was substituted in Liverpool’s last game after being knocked out.
There is good news on the horizon, however, as Fabinho is believed to be set to return to first-team action. The Reds have an almost perfect record when he started as a center-back in both main competitions, conceding just one goal.

the CIES Football Observatory recently published figures regarding the number of players coached by each club who ply their trade in the five big European leagues. David Dubas-Fisher provided an overview of the detailed data here .
While Liverpool have been doing pretty well lately on this front, there is certainly room for improvement. Eleven players who were with the Reds for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21 were in the top leagues last season, which was the seventh most trained by a Premier League club.
