Firefighters are inspecting a Beverly Crest mansion believed to be owned by actor Denzel Washington after reports of smoke Wednesday night.
Shortly after 8 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched following a 911 call from a resident of 41 Beverly Park Circle. When firefighters arrived, the occupants of the house were already out, LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
Humphrey said he couldn’t confirm who owned the house. KCBS-TV Channel 2 reported that the house is owned by “The Equalizer” actor Denzel Washington.
Firefighters found smoke on the second floor but no flames, according to firefighters. About an hour later, firefighters were still searching the walls of the 28,887-square-foot four-story mansion using thermal cameras.
“The investigation largely focuses on one of the many ovens in the house that may have been recently overhauled,” LAFD said in a news alert.
