Treyarch announced that he would repair one of the Call Of Duty: Cold War Black OpsThe most powerful and controversial tactic before launch: sliding.
While Cold War Black Ops doesn’t release until tomorrow, players already got a taste of its multiplayer during the weekend betas earlier this month. One of the major verdicts? It was too easy to abuse the sliding to blow up opponents and take them out before they even knew what was going on.
It was bad:

Much to the relief of many players, Treyarch agrees with them and announced in his patch notes from day one that the maneuver will be seriously disrupted. The slide is now shorter, slower, and doesn’t let you start filming so quickly.
“The glide is designed as an escape mechanism or a quick entry into a crouched or covered position,” Treyarch wrote. “It’s not meant to be overused during engagements, nor to be too advantageous up close.”
The studio continued:
In the beta it was faster to fire your weapon from a sprint while sliding than by simply ending your sprint with fire. This has been fixed so that ending a sprint to shoot is the fastest way to raise your weapon, and swiping to shoot is no longer faster.
Finally, more of that:
