AUGUSTA, Georgia – During his press conference on Tuesday, Tiger Woods showed rare emotion when asked to recount his victory last year at the Masters.
“I still get chills just thinking about it,” he said, fighting back tears.
Later that day, Woods hosted the Champions Dinner and he was still in a sentimental mood.

“Tiger was very moved. I’ve never seen Tiger this way, ”six-time Masters winner Jack Nicklaus said Thursday.
According to Nicklaus, who joined Gary Player on the first tee as honorary starters early Thursday, this was probably the smallest crowd at dinner he could remember due to travel restrictions and COVID-19. There were 26 of 33 possible participants, according to the Chronicle of Augusta.
Woods, who won his fifth green jacket and his 15e Major Championship last year at Augusta National, said his 1997 Masters victory and last year’s triumph stand above other majors he has won, for a number of reasons. In the video above, at around 2:55, Woods is moved to talk about hugging his son, Charlie, after winning last year.
