Galaxy Note 9 receives new four-week security update in One UI 2.5

As usual, Samsung is doing a great job bringing the latest security fixes to its mobile products in a timely manner and the November 2020 security update is now reaching another device, namely the Galaxy Note 9 (SM-N960F ) in Europe. The latest update is identified by the firmware version N960FXXU6FTK1 and, at the time of writing this article, availability is limited to Germany.

The November 2020 security patch was detailed by Samsung earlier this month, about a week after the update was released on the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The patch fixes 5 critical vulnerabilities in the Android operating system, 29 threats high and 31 moderate threats. It also fixes an Exynos 990 issue, although this fix obviously does not affect the Galaxy Note 9 powered by Exynos 9810.

The new firmware update doesn’t appear to include any additional features outside of the security patch, but that’s to be expected four weeks after the highly anticipated One UI 2.5 update arrived on the Galaxy Note 9. Readers who own the Galaxy Note 9 in Germany should be able to download the new firmware update and security patch by opening Settings on their phones, access Software updateand typing Download and install.
