Boston interested in Jrue Holiday

With less than a week to go before the 2020 NBA Draft, rumors are circulating – which teams will choose, who they want to trade against and everything in between. Much of this is smokescreen for the true intentions of the teams, but cheating is part of the fun.

Here is a summary of some of the rumors bouncing around the NBA on Thursday:

• The Boston Celtics want to trade their three first-round picks (14, 26, 30) to go up for the lottery, then flip that pick in a bundle to bring Jrue Holiday to Boston, according to Kevin O’Conner at The Ringer. There’s some logic to that: It’s known that Danny Ainge and the Celtics had talks about consolidating their picks to advance in the draft, and there were rumors that the Pelicans wanted a lottery pick. However, making this trade work is difficult unless the Pelicans want Gordon Hayward back. There are a lot of questions about how exactly this would work (also, where does Holiday fit in a Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown starting backcourt?). A number of competing teams are interested in a holiday trade, but his $ 26.1 million contract next season makes matching salaries tough.

• Speaking of Boston, there are rumors that – along with Charlotte – have told Indiana about a Myles Turner business, reports J. Michael of the Indian Star.

As noted, Pacers like Turner and last season the Turner / Domantas Sabonis duo worked pretty well together (the Pacers played virtually even teams, +0.7 when they were on the pitch together. Indiana doesn’t feel not the pressure to trade Turner, which means he can be patient and fetch a high price.

• Milwaukee is due to take a few steps this summer and rumor has it in Houston about an Eric Bledsoe for Robert Covington or PJ Tucker, again via Kevin O’Conner at The Ringer. While it’s tempting to say, “Houston would never go for that,” if Russell Westbrook’s reports of wanting are true, the team will be looking for another point guard and another ball keeper, and Bledsoe might do the trick. . With that said, be careful investing too much going out of Houston at this time; this situation could go in a million different directions.

• Vacation traded in Atlanta – likely for pick # 6 and of course players match pay – remains a hot rumor. Atlanta wants the veterans to jump into the playoffs and be more of a threat in the East, but there are legitimate questions about the Pelicans’ interest.

• Minnesota are still looking to trade for the No.1 pick and O’Conner du Ringer says he could target Tyrese Haliburton if they do. He could step in as the game’s save goalie with or behind D’Angelo Russell in the rotation (although he doesn’t help the team’s defensive matters).

• Also from The Ringer’s O’Conner: Orlando has pick # 15 and wants to go up, and they kick that # 15 and Aaron Gordon can get them?

• Multiple sources have told NBC Sports (and other media outlets) that Florida State’s Patrick Williams is soaring on the editorial boards. Rumor has it that his floor is now the Pistons at No.7, making the Hawks’ pick at six more valuable. Is the magic trying to jump to get Williams? Would Gordon really suit Atlanta?

• For what appears to be the 3,647th time, the Wizards general manager says he wants to sign Davis Bertans again.
