Just two weeks after his fourth “SNL” performance, comedian John Mulaney landed a more permanent TV gig on NBC, joining his former “SNL” colleague Seth Meyers as editor for “Late Night With Seth Meyers”. NBC. Take a look at Mulaney’s first sketch above now.
The news was announced by “Late Night” showrunner Mike Shoemaker on Twitter. “John Mulaney enjoys working so this week he officially joined Late Night with @SethMeyers as editor,” Shoemaker said. “I hope he stays 100 years, but I’ll settle for ‘as long as John wants”.
In the sketch, inspired by pundits who invoked recently deceased political icons like John Lewis and John McCain while celebrating Joe Biden’s victory over Donald Trump, Mulaney joked about the possibility that ghosts played an actual role in the ‘election. “McCain and Lewis directly haunted this election, but they weren’t the only ones,” Mulaney joked.

“The suburban mothers’ voting bloc was not the deciding factor in this election, but rather angry, the ghosts and middle class ghouls who may have supported Trump in 2016, may not have. not done, but said ‘at this point listen, I’m a ghost, boo, I can’t take four more years of this,’ he continued. The work adds to a somewhat busy year for Mulaney. He’s also hosted “SNL” twice this year, first in February during season 45 and most recently on Halloween.
