James Harden’s hit storyline forming a deluxe Big 3 in Brooklyn may not be as far-fetched as the Dodgers returning to Ebbets Field.
ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins, a former Harden teammate with Oklahoma City, pitched the Harden idea last week about Brooklyn and the Sixers as potential destinations for the bearded man wonders if he feels his time has passed in Houston and requires a trade.

On Sunday night, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski doubled the odds of a Brooklyn Dream Team when he tweeted that Harden was considering his future with the franchise and that the Nets were “ rising to the top of his list. ”
Joining forces with KD and Irving, Woj tweeted, “resonated” with Harden, the left-handed scoring machine who has averaged over 30 points in each of the past three seasons.
It should resonate with Harden as well as Nets assistant coach Mike D’Antoni allowed Harden to thrive in Houston.
As the Knicks consider making a splash with Houston point guard Russell Westbrook, New York could once again become a basketball mecca if that could happen and give the struggling league the jerk it needs.
The pawns the Nets should likely deliver to the Rockets include two of the four players: Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert – who excelled in the Orlando bubble – and role player Taurean Prince. The Nets’ 19th pick in Wednesday’s draft may also have to be returned.
Harden-KD-Irving not only makes a spectacular star-power trio, but would allow swingman Joe Harris to be wide open from the 3-point line on almost any possession if they re-sign him as well.
The Rockets will have a say in all of this and are reportedly still telling teams they want to “go back” this season with their current cast despite Westbrook reporting he wants. According to ESPN, Harden is concerned about the Rockets’ title window closing.
Irving and Durant are on $ 141 million and $ 164 million, respectively, while Harden has $ 131.5 million remaining on his Houston contract.
Billionaire owner of Nets, Joe Tsai, has shown his willingness to spend at all costs, although his net worth has reportedly dropped significantly in the past two weeks due to new Chinese regulations.
Tsai’s shares at Alibaba fell dramatically as regulators placed further constraints on the company’s operations, costing him billions.
The good news for Tsai is that the NBA agreed this week to reassess luxury tax penalties after the upcoming pandemic season if basketball revenues decline sharply as a 72-game season begins on December 22. Tsai will owe $ 50 million in luxury tax, but he could cut back.
As for basketball, Tsai knows it’s NBA Finals or bust for the Nets. He also realized that in order to rob the city from the most popular Knicks, extraordinary measures must be taken.
A KD-Irving-Harden triumvirate would be nothing short of epic. It is also an insurance in case Durant’s Achilles or Irving’s shoulder does not resist.
