Small handbag? Ariana Grande rocks the small backpack instead

For the past year or two, small handbags have been the trend that just doesn’t stop! The movement really started in 2018 thanks to labels such as Jacquemus, which offered us to carry bags large enough only to contain a card holder and may be a lip gloss, and the idea hasn’t failed yet. Rocking a micro bag isn’t just a look – it’s become a way of life, and one that challenges us to rationalize what we carry with us every day. It’s mostly a hit with celebrities. Now, however, superstar Ariana Grande is wearing the itty-bitty look to another accessory. Enter the micro backpack.

Backpacks are, in essence, functional. They are essential for students, who have to carry laptops, notebooks and giant water bottles for the class. But Grande stepped out this weekend in Beverly Hills, Calif., And argued that the small backpack was just a fashion accessory. Worn over the shoulder, the Positions singer wore a Louis Vuitton micro backpack, adorned with the French fashion house’s signature monogram print. She styled it in a classic Grande manner, with an oversized sweater (worn as a dress), lace-up thigh-high boots, and oversized sunglasses. In its miniature size, the bag is more of a statement piece than a practical one. But this is decidedly more spacious than a mini purse: inside you can store a regular wallet, keys and dare I say, even your phone! Guess it’s officially time to say “thank you, next to” small purses and “yuh” small backpacks.
