Destiny 2’s new expansion, Beyond Light, has been going well alongside Update 3.0 recently, and while many Destiny fans are enjoying the new content, there have been criticisms of how the expansion handles. the loot. It appears that the pool of new loot in Destiny 2 is quite low, with players receiving a lot of duplicate weapons that were already in the game before the expansion.
As The Gamer notes, the loot controversy has spilled over onto Reddit, where an article about the issues gamers face drew a response from Bungie Community Manager “dmg04”. With a lot of content from previous iterations of Destiny 2 now locked up in the “Content Vault”, players have been upset that new armor and weapons haven’t been added.
“First of all, I mean these issues weren’t overlooked,” dmg04 says. “We’re passing comments, and the team has read your thoughts on a variety of topics.”
To address loot issues, they say that “most of the new content” in the expansion is focused on Beyond Light and the Season Pass Season of the Hunt, but new items have also been added to ritual activities. “Europa has a full set of armor and a plethora of weapons up for grabs with new perks not available through other means,” they add. “The raid will have a set of armor, various weapons, and mods up for grabs. Many of you are on the hunt for Exotics, and more are coming to the fold as you discover them.”
dmg04 says they’re looking at how to make it “exciting” to earn new weapons, and plans are underway to add more loot in “future seasons.”
Gaining more “light” and accessing more powerful items is one of the most rewarding parts of Destiny 2, but when the Beyond Light expansion came out, some players found a way to reach the current soft cap in one o’clock.
