MADISON, Wis. – President Donald Trump’s campaign will file a petition on Wednesday, Nov. 18 for a recount in two counties in Wisconsin – Milwaukee and Dane.
The campaign cites “illegally altered mail-in ballots, illegally-issued mail-in ballots, and illegal advice given by government officials to circumvent Wisconsin voter identification laws.” Again, this WON’T DO be a statewide vote recount.
The Trump campaign said in a press release that “these two counties were selected because they are the sites of the worst irregularities. Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. transferred $ 3 million to Wisconsin to cover the cost estimated recounts “.
The Wisconsin Election Commission said no petitions had yet been received, but the Trump campaign told WEC staff that a petition would be filed on Wednesday.
In Milwaukee and Dane counties, Democrat Joe Biden received 577,455 votes. He won the statewide by 20,608 votes, based on the solicited results submitted by the counties.
The recount, once officially approved by the chairman of the electoral commission, could begin as early as Thursday and no later than Saturday. It should be finished on December 1st.

Recounts in Wisconsin and across the country have historically resulted in very few voting changes. A 2016 presidential recount in Wisconsin earned Trump 131 more votes.
President Trump won Wisconsin by less than 23,000 votes that year and opposed the recount by Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
President Trump and other Republicans have made allegations of fraud and irregularities in the Wisconsin election, without evidence. The election chief and local state officials said there had been no substantive reports of problems or wrongdoing.
