Florida State first year quarterback Chubba purdy, who started last Saturday for the Seminoles against NC state, it’s over for the season, head coach Mike Norvell announced Wednesday.

“We will be announcing that Chubba Purdy will actually be out for the remainder of the season,” said Norvell. “He had a situation that arose. He had surgery yesterday. He had irritation and inflammation with regard to some material for the collarbone. There was no problem with the bone itself. is 100% in that regard. We just had to speed up the removal of the material. It was something we had already planned to do, but due to the irritation and some of the inflammation that manifested itself after the game, it kind of forced that process to speed up. It’s going to be It’s just one of those things that the unfortunate timing sped up there, something that happened after the match. “

The 6-foot-2, 212-pound flagger from Queen Creek, Ariz. Is once again struggling with a collarbone injury ahead of the season. Purdy broke his collarbone during FSU’s first scrimmage in August. It required surgery and a minor cleansing procedure that kept him away until mid-October. He has now undergone a third injury procedure, which resulted in his stoppage for the remainder of the season. Norvell added that he is fully awaiting Purdy’s return to spring football.

“Chubba will be absolutely ready to go,” Norvell said of Spring. “We had a plan and understood that the material removal process was going to take place. Due to some of the irritation and inflammation around this material, we had to speed this up. Absolutely, he will be ready to go. Just unfortunate that the timeline just isn’t fast enough to bring him back before the season is over. Don’t worry about anything coming up and we’ll definitely have it for spring as soon as spring workouts start. “

With Purdy out, FSU only has two quarter-purses left – Sophomore Redshirt Jordan travis and real recruit Tate Rodemaker. Travis, who missed the NC State game with a concussion, is expected to be available on Saturday against Clemson. Rodemaker is also available and played, in relief, last Saturday.

Fellow quarterback, junior redshirt James blackman, left the team before the NC State game. FSU has started four different quarterbacks on the season.

Purdy has appeared in each of the FSU’s last three games. He had a start to the season. He was 27 for 53 (50.9%) for 219 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and one interception. He also had 19 rushes for 57 yards.
