Scream 5 movie title officially revealed … as Courteney Cox and Neve Campbell take a backstage selfie break
The official title of the movie Scream 5 has been released.
Screenwriter Kevin Williamson announced on Wednesday that the upcoming horror film will be called Scream.
The title recalls the very first opus in the series, also called “Scream”.

Kevin made the big announcement on Twitter, where he revealed that filming for the highly anticipated film is now complete.
“This is a movie about Scream, which I’m delighted to announce is the official title of the next movie! Almost 25 years ago, when I wrote Scream and Wes Craven brought it to life, I couldn’t have imagined the lasting impact it would have on you, the fans, ” he writes.
“Glad you are returning to Woodsboro and are really scared again.” I think Wes would have been so proud of the movie Matt and Tyler are making.
“ I am delighted to be reunited with Neve, Courteney, David and Marley, and to work alongside a new team of directors and an incredible cast of newcomers who have come together to carry on Wes’ legacy. with the upcoming relaunch of the franchise that I hold so dear to my heart. The ad included a photo from the title Scream and a photo of Kevin posing on set with stars Courteney Cox and Neve Campbell.
The photo captured Courteney and Neve smiling from ear to ear as they took a selfie break after working on the horror film.
The updated Scream logo featured the film’s name in bold print, while a dark vision of Ghostface’s iconic killer lurked in the background.

Ghostface also made a creepy appearance in one of Kevin’s photos.

Courteney reprized her role as fiery journalist Gale Weathers for the fifth installment of the Scream series.
Returning stars include Neve and David Arquette, who Courteney was married to from 1999 to 2013.
