Wow, just when it looked like the Golden State Warriors’ season was hanging by a thread – Kelly Oubre Jr. is here to save the day.

Kelly Oubre Jr. has been on the Golden State Warriors’ radar for a few months now. With the season in jeopardy due to Klay Thompson’s injury, the Dubs decided to pull the trigger and bring Oubre into the squad.

The Warriors managed to do it without giving up the No. 2 draft pick as many thought they would. Instead, the Dubs kept the pick and picked James Wiseman – an imposing center who can impact the team on both sides of the pitch.

As for Oubre, they sent a 2021 first-round pick which is the top 20 protected. This means that if the pick lands in the top 20, the Warriors retain possession and send two Secon Round picks instead.

This may seem like a questionable deal for the Thunder who are already loaded with future choices. But, we have to imagine Oubre could have expressed his disinterest in stepping down with the Thunder at the end of the year. He’s much more likely to stick with the Dubs.

Anyway, now that Oubre is officially on the team – let’s take a look at three reasons he might end up being their saving grace.
