McEnany dismisses reporters, shouting questions during briefing: ‘I’m not calling activists’

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany fired reporters who shouted questions at the end of her press briefing on Friday saying she was not calling in “activists” before walking away from the podium.

McEnany answered questions from several reporters, but Playboy’s Brian Karem repeatedly yelled at him during the briefing, asking him about when President Trump will admit he lost the election.

“Do you understand the definition of sedition? Do you understand that he lost? Karem shouted as McEnany finished. Another reporter also appeared to shout a question, prompting the press secretary to return to the microphone.

“I don’t call activists,” McEnany said.

“I’m not an activist,” said a reporter as McEnany stepped out.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins confirmed after the briefing that she was the reporter who angered the press secretary. “She called me an ‘activist’,” Collins tweeted. “It is understandable why someone who has not done their job – answering journalists’ questions – in a few weeks would mistake someone else doing theirs for activism.

Karem, who has built a reputation for yelling at members of the Trump administration whenever possible, shared his own images of the moment on Twitter.

Karem also posted a video he took of himself yelling at McEnany earlier in the briefing.

“When are you going to admit you lost?” Karem shouted in the video.

Earlier this year, Trump called Karem a “big mouth” during a press briefing on the coronavirus in the rose garden.

“I told them when they put this guy here it’s just trouble,” Trump said of Karem at the time. “It’s a demonstration boat. If you keep talking, I’ll leave and you can have it with the rest of these people. If you keep talking, I’ll leave and you can get out with them.”
