World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is officially live. Players lining up to access the server early should hopefully already be playing the game, WoW’s latest expansion will take place elsewhere in the Shadowlands with five new areas. The biggest change in quality of life is a level squish which brings the level cap down to 60.

Another important addition to the gameplay is the four “alliances” players can join in the afterlife. Each Alliance, be it Kyrian, Venthyr, Necrolord, or Night Fae, is associated with a different area. Players will choose which one to join after reaching max level, and each comes with unique rewards and Covenant-specific ability, transmogs, and more.WoW: Shadowlands was originally slated for release on October 27, but following player feedback Blizzard has announced that it will delay the expansion until today for further refinement. Players will have two weeks to familiarize themselves with the new content as the first Shadowlands raid, Castle Nathria, releases on December 8.

The 10 bosses that make up the raid will take “players to the heart of Lord Denathrius’ lair in Revendreth – with the start of Season 1 of Shadowlands”.
