Mixtape Weezy is back.
On Friday (November 27), Lil Wayne released the new mixtape, No cap 3. The third installment in Tunechi’s coveted mixtape series features 20 songs, and as usual, it features captivating Weezy bodies on some of the hottest tracks that have dropped in the past two years. It also contains appearances by Young Thug, Gudda Guddda, Cory Gunz and more, and has Wayne and Drake’s musical reunion on the song “BB King Freestyle”.
Wayne initially pissed off fans about the August release when he said the band would be next in his lineup, followed by Carter VI. “[Tha] Carter VI coming soon, but I have No ceilings come first. No cap 3Wayne revealed in an ESPN interview.
Earlier this week, he put Deployment Mode in full effect, revealing the project’s release date on Instagram with help from DJ Khaled, who hosts the mixtape. “No Ceilings 3 !!!!! Hosted by @djkhaled,” Wayne captioned a video of Khaled while viewing the project in the studio on IG. “It’s ⬆️ !!! It’s been a minute! I felt it was too late! NC3 comes as a much needed distraction for Lil Wayne who caught the heat for his association with President Trump. The rapper was also recently charged with firearms by the federal government.
The first one No capS’s mixtape was released in 2009 and is considered one of the best mixtapes of the past two decades. It was finally released on streaming services over the summer. Wayne followed up with the second edition in November 2015. Now he is finishing the trifecta.
