Former Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. has revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 39-year-old, who helmed season 22 of ABC’s hit reality TV series, shared a video on his Instagram Stories Thursday in which he revealed he had been diagnosed with COVID-19 “nine days ago”. After testing positive, he described it as a “rough” experience.
“I have to say it’s not easy to be apart,” he said of his wife Lauren Burnham’s social estrangement and their one-year-old daughter. While secluding himself in a separate part of their house, Luyendyk Jr. said Burnham took care of him and “was just slipping food outside and then I go get it.”
Luyendyk Jr. continued to share an update on Friday while waiting in line to take another COVID-19 test.
“Still on hold … rapid tests are really hard to find here (everyone’s beside them) I had to go to an independent lab which costs $ 125. They do 300 tests a day and pass them before lunch, ”he wrote alongside a photo of himself wearing a mask.
Luyendyk Jr. later shared the results of his latest test indicating he now tested negative. “Lauren is always afraid to give me a hug,” he joked.
Luyendyk Jr. marks the last person in Bachelor Nation to contract COVID-19. Peter Giannikopoulos, a competitor of the season from Tayshia Adams The bachelorette, revealed earlier this month that he had been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
