Assassin’s Creed Valhalla PC players have already found a way to get items from the store for free • Eurogamer.net

Including new equipment.

Well, it didn’t take long. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been out for less than a month, and PC gamers have already figured out how to access premium cosmetics for free, including some that haven’t even been released yet.

On Nexus Mods, users share a table for Cheat Engine (free memory analysis software – download at your own risk) that allows players to access sets like the Berserker, Valkyrie, Draugr and Huldufolk on PC. I tried it out myself, and after a bit of tinkering I found out that I had suddenly acquired just about all of the premium packs, which would normally cost around 2000 Helix Credits each to unlock (a pack of 2300 Credits Helix costs £ 16.99, if you’re wondering). Or one lot grind opals and wait for Reda to sell each item individually I guess.

Here is me with some of the Helix Store gear, including the Bayek outfit which was only accessible by watching the Valhalla launch live on Twitch.

While it’s already a bit naughty, others have taken it a step further by using Cheat Engine to load currently unreleased material. On some forums, users are sharing images such as this fiery wolf, as well as Ezio’s brotherhood outfit, which has yet to be made available to Valhalla. Judging by the hash lists shared online, it’s likely we’ll see more unreleased cosmetics released to the internet in the coming days.

A similar inventory editor was created for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in 2019, and so far it seems Ubisoft hasn’t been too bothered with people modifying their games for high-end cosmetic items. Maybe this one will survive again.

Meanwhile, other modders have created a way to give Eivor a more exciting haircut, pulled (in both senses of the word) off the heads of NPCs. The latest update to Eivor Customiser means that you can now change your beard, while also fixing a cloak masking feature from the previous version.
