It’s apparently not too late for Kelly Dodd to apologize.
The “Real Housewives of Orange County” star, 45, expressed remorse for his “callous” comment that COVID-19 was “God’s way of thinning the flock” by appearing in “Watch what’s happening. going live with Andy Cohen ”Wednesday night. She first made the remark in April at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Of course, I regret saying that,” she told Cohen. “It was stupid of me to say. It was callous and I apologize if I hurt or offended someone because that was not really my intention. I was afraid of it and, looking back, it was the dumbest thing I ever said.
She apologized at the time, even though fans thought it wasn’t sincere.
Then, in May, she bragged that she and her family weren’t wearing masks when they went out to the restaurant and falsely claimed that “no one dies” in Orange County.
Cohen pressed her down, asking if she finally believed people should wear masks, especially after her mother contracted COVID-19 and was in the ICU last month.
“At first I was misinformed,” she says. “You have to realize that it was, like in January when it happened. I was misinformed. I didn’t realize I wasn’t wearing a mask – I hate it. I am claustrophobic. I can’t stand wearing a mask and now I understand the science behind it and am ready and willing and able to wear a mask and I know it matters.
Dodd added that she and her mother were currently separated and found out she was in intensive care via her brother Eric’s Instagram account. The two spoke over Thanksgiving, where she learned she was finally back from the hospital.
