Singer Noah Cyrus is “mortified” after using a racial slur when defending Harry Styles’ photoshoot for Vogue.

The British singer wreaked havoc earlier last month after appearing on the cover of Vogue wearing a dress.

Responding to commentator Candance Owens, who criticized the look and said to “bring back manly men,” Noah said a word that sparked a wave of fury.

The new Grammy nominee took to her Instagram story to expand her support for the One Direction singer by sharing a photo of himself with a caption that read, “He wears this dress better than any of your butt. [expletive]. “

After the post, viewers were quick to point out that his use of the term “layer” was controversial as it had a negative historical connotation for the natural textures of dark hair.

One Twitter user wrote that whites “have to stop using words you hear black people say,” adding, “you don’t even know what you’re saying just to look cool.”

Among the critics was Candance who slammed the singer and called on Noah’s sister, famous musician Miley Cyrus, to “come get your sister!”.

“I want to explain to myself what @noahcyrus calls me a ‘diaper [expletive]isn’t racist? I’m all ears. You love to cancel the culture, ”she wrote.

Taking for her Instagram stories, Noah apologized profusely and said she was “mortified” after understanding the context of the word.

“I am mortified that I used a term without knowing the context and the story, but I know it now and I am horrified and very sorry.”

“I will never use it again. Thank you for educating me. I did not mean to offend anyone in any way. I’m so sorry,” she wrote.
